Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Pretzels

These are a family favorite treat and they are so fun and easy to make! Plus they only require a handful of ingredients.

They are perfect for celebrations and holiday parties (just switch out the color of sprinkles to match the event). And they also make a great on the go-snack or pack along lunch treat.

And their flavor is 100% irresistible! That nutty peanut butter, salty pretzel, rich and sweet chocolate combo was meant to be together.

Plus the blend of textures is completely satisfying too. Crisp pretzel, creamy peanut butter filling, soft smooth chocolate and a lightly crunchy sprinkle finish.

Made with three types of crisp Chex cereal (wheat, rice and corn), crunchy bagel chips, salty pretzels, rich mixed nuts, and it's all coated in a well seasoned butter and Worcestershire based sauce. It's such a flavorful, nostalgic snack that's will keep you munching!

Who doesn't love Chex Mix? A snack that goes way back when, and always a fun one around the holidays.

For years I had just been buying Chex Mix at the store but this year I figured it was due time to try making it at home. And now I'm hooked because this fresher, buttery version is just that much better!

I've listed three common options to cook it. My personal favorite is the oven method but all work well.

With the slow cooker you just have to be available to stir every so often which can be a bit tedious in my opinion, and the microwave works fine but I think the perfectly crisp texture of the oven option wins.

Here we use a homemade seasoned salt blend (including salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika and sugar). The great thing about that is that you can have more control over amount of salt, and you can switch it up (using other spices or adjusting those listed here).

It's a versatile recipe with so many options. Or just stick with the classic because you can't go wrong with it as is!

Snowman Sugar Cookies

Perfect Holiday Sugar Cookies

Like I mentioned in an earlier post about these, these Sugar Cookies would definitely make the cut for my list of top 5 favorite Christmas cookies!

I just love everything about them.

I love their perfectly soft and tender crumb - thanks to the cornstarch and sour cream.

I love their flavor - which is a buttery cookie with hints of depth thanks to the sour cream, then the almond and vanilla extract add some decadence.

I love their sweet and creamy vanilla frosting.

And obviously I'm loving their cute and festive look. They're just too fun.

Seriously once you start eating the Caramel Corn Snack Mix you won't know when to stop! In other words don't say I didn't warn you. This is probably my favorite caramel popcorn recipe to date and I've made my fair share of caramel popcorn. What makes this one so special? It's not just caramel popcorn, it's caramel - popcorn, crisp rice cereal, salty pretzels and crunchy pecans. It's caramel popcorn with the works and your going to love it!

Crunchy Caramel Corn Snack Mix

Caramel Corn Snack Mix

If your family are basketball fans then this is most definitely the perfect treat to make to munch on during the game, no other snacks will matter. And for me I'm already planning on making it again for an upcoming road trip.

Crunchy Caramel Corn Snack Mix ingredients shown here.

Everyone of us absolutely loved this caramel popcorn! And I loved how easy it was to make. You just boil together a few ingredients then toss it over the mix of popcorn, cereal, pretzels and pecans and bake it in the oven for 30 minutes. It's probably a bad thing it's so easy to make because it's just so dangerously good!

Crunchy Caramel Corn Snack Mix

For this recipe I used pecans. They're a healthy snack or a great addition to your favorite baking and dinner recipes. They are even delicious in chicken salad too. Now what are you waiting for?? Head to the store if you don't already have the ingredients for this recipe and get cookin!

Pumpkin-Shaped Rice Krispie Treats https://www.cookingclassy.com/pumpkin-rice-krispie-treats/ https://www.cookingclassy.com/pumpkin-rice-krispie-treats/#comments Mon, 03 Oct 2016 00:00:38 +0000 https://www.cookingclassy.com/?p=26385 Pumpkin-Shaped Rice Krispie Treats are such a fun easy treat the whole family will love, especially the kids! Traditional rice krispies treats are tinted with orange food coloring, shaped into rounds, and topped with a pretzel stick and shaped green candy, such as airheads (or green fondant). The perfect pumpkin rice krispie treats are the best for Halloween and Thanksgiving parties, or a weekend edible craft.

Rice Krispie Treats in Fun Pumpkin Shapes

No matter how old you are rice krispie treats never get old! I still make them all the time for a quick treat and I’ll never get sick of them.

Here I’ve made them into a fall-inspired treat that both young and old alike will love! Whenever I take them to a Halloween party or Thanksgiving dinner they disappear in no time (ugh and I can never stop at just one).

I’ve mentioned in the recipe if you are making them for adults I’d use the marshmallow fondant, then for kids use the green airheads as pictured.

Rice Krispie Treats with Peanut Butter and Pretzels

Peanut Butter Pretzel Rice Krispie Treats

These treats are perfect for snacking or dessert and even fancy enough for parties.  It's always a delight for people to enjoy a new twist on one of their favorite treats.  Can you ever go wrong adding peanut butter to treats and desserts?

Then, you add in even more flavor with the slightly salted pretzels, smooth, rich chocolate, and a hint of pure vanilla.  These are an exciting party for your mouth.

They are everything I'd imagine a gourmet candy bar to be. Sometimes the standard Rice Krispie Treat is a little too sweet, so adding more sophisticated flavors like peanut butter and pretzel make it a more complex and interesting dessert. WARNING: Highly addictive.
