Yes that's right a crockpot chicken tikka masala that doesn't require any browning meat, sautéing aromatics, or the extra step of pureeing sauce. Everything is simply added right into a slow cooker, tossed together, cooked through, then finished off with a fair amount of cream.

It is the simplest way to cook this savory Indian-British dish and the final result is a full flavored, perfectly impressive curry style dinner. Who doesn't love a dinner recipe that takes minimal effort but yields maximum flavor!

This near effortless dish simmers low and slow allowing all the flavors to meld and soak into the chicken, and its generous allotment of cooking time allows for all those spices to marry together in a overall unified flavor.

The key to a good slow cooker curry style dish like this is just to use plenty of spices, fresh aromatics (garlic, ginger and onion), and never forget the cream (it compliments the tomato beautifully). An Easy Tofu Scramble Recipe

I never used to be a fan of tofu but that was likely because it was under-seasoned or just not cooked right. Tofu tastes incredibly plain and mild on it's own as is but when seasoned right and sautéed it can transform into something that's actually super tasty.

Tofu is very absorbent to flavors so it makes it highly adaptable which is great for these "scrambled eggs" using tofu. They're flavorfully seasoned with southwestern spices that soak right in, and it's cooked in a hot skillet until golden brown to take on more flavor. And I think you'll enjoy that the texture is very similar to scrambled eggs.

It's a quick to make vegan breakfast and it pairs beautifully with whole grain toast and sliced avocado. This has been a go-to breakfast for me lately and it actually re-heats really well so I can get a few breakfast meals out of it.

Feel free to add in other vegetables (things like mushrooms, zucchini, or tomatoes) and you could even splurge a little and add some cheese (vegan or regular) at the end.

What is Beef Shawarma?

Then, it is placed on a vertical rotisserie or spit and slow-roasted for days until it is unbelievably tender.

Golden milk has a distinctive taste. It is warmly earthy, supremely spiced, slightly sweet, complexly flavorful, has a light bite to it, and with the addition of coconut oil or if using dairy milk it becomes a rich drink.

Some drinks with similar flavor include chai tea or spicy eggnog.

You have the option to sweeten it, then serve it warm and cozy or chilled and iced. I say this really just depends on the season. I think you'll love it warm during fall and winter months and chilled during spring and summer months.

It's touted to have lots of health benefits (see below) and some say it can even help improve sleep quality.

Coconut Lentil Curry

Chickpea Coconut Curry

This Chickpea curry is such a hearty and flavorful Indian dish that really packs in that crave-able flavor! It's made without any meat and you won't even miss it in the slightest!

The best part, in my opinion, really is the sauce with its vibrant taste and perfect smoothness (no chunks thanks to a quick blend). If you're a fan of butter chicken, I'm willing to bet you'll love this!

Though it may seem like an incredibly long list of chickpea curry ingredients here, don't be alarmed because the majority of it is spices you likely already have on hand in your pantry (plus I've even included a few as optional).

Some of you may be thinking, but wait, there's no curry? Here we make our own curry spice blend which gives us far more overall control over flavor and heat level.

And this recipe uses plenty of them for an exciting, rich depth of well-rounded flavor.

Serving suggestions are of course the classic basmati rice or cauliflower rice, but if you really want to go all out serve it with warm buttery naan bread. Roasted vegetables are a great side to it as well just ditch the Italian seasoning and use spices like those here instead. You can also try serving this over spinach or kale.

Thai Coconut Chicken

Their version had ground lamb but I prefer chicken so I went with that instead but feel free to try it with cooked ground lamb if you'd like.

This soup is brimming with nutritious ingredients and finished with a bit of cream to make it rich and take it over the top. But if you are wanting to keep it healthy go with coconut milk or even half and half.

We often get in the rut of making the same easy things but I love recipes like this that have so much flavor and are something out of the norm. This is a soup that's sure to impress!

Ingredients You'll Need for This Recipe

  • Olive oil
  • Produce - yellow onion, carrot, garlic, ginger, sweet potatoes, cilantro
  • Spices - cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika, cinnamon, salt
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • Vegetable broth
  • Canned diced tomatoes
  • Brown lentils

How to Make Sweet Potato Soup with Lentils

  • Heat 2 Tbsp olive oil in a pot over medium-high heat.
  • Saute onion and carrot 4 minutes. Add garlic and ginger and saute 1 minute.
  • Add remaining 1 Tbsp olive oil and spices. Saute 1 minute.
  • Stir in vegetable broth, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and lentils.
  • Bring to a light boil, reduce heat and simmer until sweet potatoes have softened, about 25 minutes.
  • Stir in half the cilantro and serve with remainder.

  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped yellow onion
  • 1 large carrot, (diced (1/2 cup))
  • 3 cloves garlic, (minced (1 Tbsp))
  • 2 tsp peeled and minced fresh ginger
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 6 cups vegetable broth, (then more if desired)
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can petite diced tomatoes
  • 1 (16 oz) large sweet potato, (peeled and diced into 1/2-inch cubes (3 cups))
  • 1 cup brown lentils, (picked over and rinsed)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  1. Heat 2 Tbsp olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add onion and carrot and saute 4 minutes. 
  2. Add garlic and ginger and saute 1 minute longer. Add remaining 1 Tbsp olive oil, cumin, coriander, turmeric, paprika and cinnamon. 
  3. Saute 1 minute. Stir in vegetable broth, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and lentils. Season with salt to taste. 
  4. Bring to a light boil then reduce heat to medium-low, cover pot and allow to simmer, stirring occasionally until sweet potatoes are soft and lentils are tender, about 25 - 30 minutes. 
  5. Thin with up to 1 more cup of broth if desired. Stir in half of the cilantro then serve with remaining cilantro.
