I use my microwave. Use a microwave safe clean glass bowl or casserole dish. Cover the top loosely and put a plate underneath before microwaving (cooks faster and catches any spillover).

I use a 2.5 qt. casserole dish and it takes roughly 12-15 minutes on high to reach 190°. Start checking the temperature around 8 minutes and go from there.

Once it comes to 190°, turn off the microwave and let it cool down to 110° before tempering and whisking in the yogurt starter.

Cover the dish with either a lid or plastic wrap. Wrap in a towel and put in a warm area for 12 to 24 hours. Then refrigerate until cold.

Yes you can do this about 10 times before starting over. I would recommend adding 1/2 cup of the homemade yogurt.
