It was fantastic. It is more like a chili than a soup which I was very happy with. It does have a little kick due to the jalapeno and I’m so glad to have found this recipe.

Recipe is a little different than what I usually make but just as delicious. Easy to put together. I used the leftover soup to smother enchiladas in for a second meal. I actually look for recipes that I can use leftovers to add to another meal yet be different. With just two people I have leftovers a lot and by combining and making another meal to use my leftovers, it’s cost efficient plus not boring. This soup is delicious when you fry cornbread and put the soup over it. Just make your cornbread batter a little thicker, drop by spoonful into hot oil till browned, turn and brown other side. Delicious with all kinds of soup.

Hi Amanda. I love to make an appetizer with Fiesta ranch! It’s:
burrito size tortillas
One package fiesta ranch
One 16oz tub of sour cream
One 8oz block of cream cheese
One can chilis
Shredded cheese if desired
Mix all and spread mixture on tortillas
Sprinkle cheese on
Cut into bite sized pieces. Yum!!!

Delicious! So easy to put together — has a great taste and is very hearty. Using lean ground beef and no salt added canned veggies, it was also a healthy dish! I finished it with a big glue of lime juice and chopped cilantro. I also doubled the spices as suggested in the notes and like the extra punch very much. I wouldn’t change anything else. It’s going into my regular rotation. Thanks for the recipe.

I was skeptical of ranch at first, but it really does make the soup perfect! Great recipe!

I do use a bit more broth. I like it soupy. And I use a couple cans of corn instead of frozen it is always fine. O love that the seasonings are listed rather than a seasoning pack.Thank you

Made this today – again!! And as before when I made it in January/’25 I made it exactly as written with exception of jalapeno…. used bell pepper instead – STILL would NOT change a thing other than that (personal preference). This is by far the BEST Taco Soup recipe out there. Yes, it’s a bit spicy for my taste but not using the jalapeno helped a bit. I will definitely be keeping this recipe as a regular!!
Thanks for the recipe. I now can retire my old recipe from other references as I keep coming back to this one every time.
